A win’s a win, right?
There wasn’t much pretty about it, but the Eagles moved to 3-4-1 by beating the Dallas Cowboys, 23-9, at Lincoln Financial Field Sunday night. In a game that featured six total turnovers, bad quarterback play and questionably play calls underscored the Birds' win. Carson Wentz threw two interceptions and lost two fumbles, while Cowboys' third-string rookie quarterback Ben DiNucci lost two fumbles, including one returned by Rodney McLeod for a touchdown. The Eagles will have their bye week coming up, and will have the New York Giants in Week 10 on Nov. 15.

Defense does it all
The Eagles defense helped its own case after T.J. Edwards forced a Ben DiNucci fumble and Rodney McLeod returned the loose ball for a 53-yard touchdown return to give the Eagles a 21-9 lead with 5:18 left in the game.

Fulgham figures it out
Travis Fulgham caught his fourth touchdown of the season, this time on a nine-yard pass from Carson Wentz. The Eagles converted on a two-point conversion attempt to take a 15-9 lead with 1:54 left in the third quarter.
Wentz commits fourth turnover
Carson Wentz threw another interception to Trevon Diggs for his fourth turnover of the game with 12:04 left in the third quarter. This pick was intended for John Hightower downfield, but it appeared two two weren’t on the same page and Diggs took advantage of the possible miscue to give the Cowboys the ball at the Eagles' 20.
Turnovers galore at halftime
The Eagles went into the half trailing the Cowboys, 9-7, after a 59-yard field goal from Cowboys kicker Greg Zuerlein. Carson Wentz committed three turnovers, two lost fumbles and one interception after throwing an inadvisable pass into double coverage. The Eagles failed to convert on two fourth down attempts. Fortunately for the Eagles, Dallas' quarterback play is almost as bad. Seventh-round rookie Ben DiNucci had a lost fumble of his own and a handful of head-scratching plays, including a sidearm pass to no one.
Wentz woes continue
Carson Wentz’s turnover problems persisted, leading to a Cowboys scoring drive to make the score 7-6 with 9:46 left in the second quarter. Wentz lost his second fumble of the game on a fourth-and-4 around midfield.

Wentz, DiNucci trade fumbles
It didn’t take long for Carson Wentz to cough up the first turnover of the night. Wentz fumbled on the Eagles' third play of the game, giving the Cowboys the ball at the Eagles' 25-yard line. Brandon Graham bailed Wentz out, though, sacking Ben DiNucci and forcing a fumble at the Birds' 17-yard line with 5:48 left in the first quarter.
Slay not shadowing
The Cowboys took a 3-0 lead with 10:11 left in the first quarter after a nine-play, 47-yard opening drive. Eagles cornerback Darius Slay wasn’t strictly matched up against Amari Cooper on the Cowboys' opening drive. Instead, the Eagles' No. 1 corner matched up at times against Michael Gallup.

Defense up first
The Eagles won the toss and elected to defer, meaning the Cowboys offense will be up first.
Lane Johnson ruled out prior to kickoff
The Eagles will be without right tackle Lane Johnson tonight, after the right tackle was listed on the inactives because a knee and ankle injury. Jordan Mailata will likely slide over to the right side as Jason Peters retakes his left tackle job.
Welcome to the blog
Good evening, Eagles fans. Greetings from a rain-soaked Lincoln Financial Field. The Eagles are Cowboys are rapidly approaching a pivotal division game against the Dallas Cowboys on national TV. A win would give them a decent cushion atop the NFC East, while a loss would leave them in second place. Tonight’s game will feature several offensive players coming back from significant injuries, including Jalen Reagor, Dallas Goedert, and Jason Peters. Defensively, T.J. Edwards will be back, although the team will also be without starting linebacker Nate Gerry, who was placed on injured reserve on Friday with an Achilles injury.
The Cowboys are dealing with their own injury crisis. They’re down to Ben DiNucci, their third-string quarterback. DiNucci, the team’s seventh-round pick in last April’s NFL Draft, will be making his first career start tonight after coming in for backup quarterback Andy Dalton last weekend when Dalton suffered a concussion against the Washington Football Team.
